Evacuation stair chair training

Evacuation stair chair

To make the campus as inclusive as possible during emergencies, UC Irvine’s Emergency Management division has installed evacuation stair chairs in every multistory academic and administrative building. All students, staff and faculty are encouraged to learn how to use these chairs during an emergency. The training is in two parts: a 10-minute video-based unit in UCLC (search “evacuation stair chair training”), followed by an in-person, hands-on session. The next in-person training is June 11, with drop-in attendance between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. For more information about the evacuation stair chairs and/or the training, visit the Emergency Management website or email uciem@uci.edu.
