Giving Day raises over $2.69 million

Thank you for coming together for UC Irvine Giving Day!

Thanks to the collective generosity of the Anteater community, Giving Day was a huge success. Alumni and friends in 43 states and 16 countries gave a record 4,275 gifts, contributing more than $2.69 million to campus programs and UCI Health initiatives. Thank you for your support!

UC Irvine among top universities for fostering student success

UC Irvine has been recognized as one of only three Association of American Universities institutions nationwide to receive the Higher Access, Higher Earnings designation in the newly released 2025 Carnegie Student Access and Earnings Classification. This prestigious recognition underscores UC Irvine’s exceptional record in enrolling students from low-income and underrepresented backgrounds and providing them with the support they need to succeed in the workforce.

Join UC Irvine and UCI Health at CicloIrvine from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 3. The second annual car-free, open-street event on Campus Drive between University and Culver highlights the city’s commitment to community engagement, sustainability and environmentally-conscious travel. Attendees can stroll, bike or roll the 1.4-mile route and experience Irvine’s public spaces and local businesses in a reimagined way, with live music, art and activities for all.

Professor selected as UCDC Presidential Fellow

Charis E. Kubrin

Charis E. Kubrin has been named a UCDC Presidential Fellow, joining an elite group selected to bring their research expertise to policymakers in Washington, D.C. The criminology, law and society professor is one of seven UC faculty members selected for the new program aiming to address nationwide pressing issues. “Now more than ever, science must drive solutions to society’s most challenging social issues,” Kubrin said.
