Curbing waste reduces hunger but doesn’t help environment
Reducing waste is one way to help combat hunger around the world, but it doesn’t lead to better environmental outcomes, according to a paper published in Nature Food. Partial knee replacement revitalizes life of Marine
Career Marine Christopher Simpson, 44, struggled for years with severe osteoarthritis in his left knee. The cause was a combat injury suffered in Iraq in 2009 as well as high-impact exercise over the years. The pain forced Simpson to retire in 2021. He consulted UCI Health orthopedic surgeon Dr. Steven Yang, who recommended a partial knee replacement. The results of the procedure were more than Simpson could have imagined. Being able to move freely without pain has given him renewed vigor. “I told Dr. Yang that he was my hero for getting me back to where I needed to be.”
